Support & Assistance
Each email delivered to your mailserver, or archived in the quarantine for your domain, will have a number of headers added to it by our filtering processes..
These headers may be used to determine what caused a particular message to be archived, or allow you to filter messages which are forwarded at your receiving mail-server.
Here is a brief list of the headers which may be added by our service:
Header Name Explanation X-MS.Com-Language
This header is added to mails to report on the language which is used in the message. For example English messages will have the value 'en', and Russian mails will have the value 'ru'.
You may choose which message languages you accept in your domain control panel, or filter them locally if you prefer.
X-MS.Com-Reject
If the a mail is rejected you may view it in your quarantine area, and this header will tell you why the mail was rejected.
X-MS.Com-SPF
Our system will validate incoming mails using the SPF system, and record the results. Valid values are:
- fail - The mail wasn't validated by an existing SPF record.
- failsoft - Local error, SPF error, or soft rejection.
- pass - Mail had a valid SPF record.
X-MS.Com-Source
This header will record the IP address of the system which sent the mail to us.
X-MS.Com-Spam
If you're using the spam filtering plugin upon your incoming mail then this plugin will add this header to your mail. Values are:
- yes - The mail was classified as spam.
- no - The mail was not classified as spam.
- unsure - The filter couldn't make its mind up. Please train the message.
X-MS.com-URLBL
This header will be added if the message contains an URL which has been reported to surbl.org. The X-MS.com-SURBL header will contain details of the URL.
X-MS.Com-Version
The version of the back-end code which is used to process your mail. This is a useful thing piece of information for support requests.
X-MS.Com-Virus
If a virus is detected in a mail then regardless of what actions you've defined in the virus settings of your domain this header will be added with the name of the virus detected - as reported by our anti-virus software.
Note: Headers should be tested in a case-insensitive fashion.
