What are spamtraps?
Spamtraps are a relatively simple feature which allow you to block messages sent to a particular address at your domain.
They are useful if you have a particular address upon your domain which is invalid but which is the recipient for a lot of spam - adding a spamtrap allows mails to be rejected to that address, without having to go to the effort of maintaining a complete list of domain users.
How does they work, exactly?
-
If you control the domain example.org and you include a setting for this domain of "simon" then all mail addressed to simon@example.org will be silently discarded, and delivered to your quarantine.
How do I enable them?
-
You may enable the use of spamtraps via the Domain-Management page, linked to upon your domain list.
By default you'll have no defined spamtrap addresses listed, simply add any you wish and they will take effect immediately.
